President Donald Trump has endorsed Tulsa businessman Kevin Stitt for the race for Oklahoma governor.
Trump said in a tweet Thursday afternoon Stitt "ran a great winning campaign" and "will be a fantastic Governor."
"He is strong on Crime & Borders, the 2nd Amendment, & loves our Military & Vets. He has my complete and total Endorsement!" Trump said on Twitter.
Kevin Stitt ran a great winning campaign against a very tough opponent in Oklahoma. Kevin is a very successful businessman who will be a fantastic Governor. He is strong on Crime & Borders, the 2nd Amendment, & loves our Military & Vets. He has my complete and total Endorsement!

Stitt beat former Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett in the primary runoff race on Tuesday to win the GOP nomination for governor.
Stitt ran his campaign by touting his business experience and his "outsider" status.
In an exclusive interview, Stitt said he had been expecting a phone call to receive an endorsement and received the phone call from the president himself before the tweet was sent out.
Trump said he would swing through Oklahoma if he were anywhere close in the next 60 days, Stitt said.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of President Trump,” Stitt said in a statement. “I am ready to work with President Trump to support our veterans, advance our military bases here in Oklahoma, and make much-needed investments in our state’s roads and bridges.”
Stitt will face Democratic challenger and former Attorney General Drew Edmondson and Libertarian candidate Chris Powell in the general election on Nov. 6.
