The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) assisted Sulphur police in trying to end the situation that began at 3 p.m. Monday in downtown. According to police, they communicated with a woman inside a business who is armed with a rifle.
Police shut down 12th Street between Broadway and Wyandotte, at one point it left downtown Sulphur at a standstill, according to KXII.
Authorities said the incident put two law enforcement officials and the suspect in the hospital. An OHP trooper and Sulphur police officer were injured by gunshots. The trooper has non-life threatening injuries and the police officer was listed in stable condition, according to authorities.
