Owasso Police took a 17-year-old boy into custody Thursday after investigating threats of a school shooting.

Police said they responded to the Owasso RAM Academy at 202 East Brady after reports of a student making threats to carry out a shooting.

They said School Resource Officers interviewed the 17 year old and several witnesses who said they heard the threats. The release says the teen was taken into custody after the interviews for planning or threatening a violent act.

Officers said they found no evidence that he took any actual steps toward carrying out the threat. They also said there is currently no known threat against any students at the RAM Academy or any Owasso school.

Police said the student is enrolled at the RAM Academy but his name has not been released.
