Tulsa County Sheriff's Office arrested a Sand Springs man charged with causing an injury wreck while driving under the influence of drugs. Authorities say Brian L. Ragsdale had taken pain medication before he crossed the center line and hit a motorcyclist last year.
According to court records, police were called to the scene of a collision between Ragsdale's Chevy Lumina and motorcycle at Coyote Trail and 209th West Avenue on the afternoon of Sunday, March 3, 2013. Officers determined that Ragsdale was going around a curve, crossed the center line and hit a motorcycle with two riders.
The passenger on the motorcycle was so badly injured she had to have a leg amputated, court documents state.
A state trooper who investigated the wreck said Tuttle appeared to be under the influence of medication and made a comment about "just wanting to go home and take a nap."
An affidavit of probable cause says Ragsdale has a previous back injury that caused him to take pain medication, but that he had run out of his prescription and had taken a relative's Lortab about an hour and a half before the wreck.
Ragsdale, who was taken into custody on the felony warrants Saturday, was released on a $5,500 bond.
