Mustang Fire Crews Investigate After Boat Fire Spreads To Attic Of Home

Mustang fire crews are investigating after a boat caught fire and spread to the attic of a house Friday morning near East State Highway 152 and Mustang Road.

Fire officials said the house had smoke alarms but dogs woke the family inside up and everyone was able to get out safely.

"We received a call about midnight for a boat on fire on the back porch that was spreading to the house. When we got here the fire was involved heavily in the attic," said Captain Jonathan Sprague.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials said they are looking into how much damage was done to the home.
