The polls are now open for the Aug. 25 run-off elections.
Two major races in the Oklahoma metro include the run-off for Oklahoma County Sheriff and Congressional District 5.
The Democratic candidate in the race for sheriff has already been decided. Lt. Wayland Cubit will battle it out with one of the two Republican candidates on the ballot, Sheriff PD Taylor or Tommie Johnson III.
Sheriff Taylor is hoping to beat Johnson using his experience and what he's already done as sheriff.
News 9 asked if there would be anything Sheriff Taylor would change if he was reelected, but he said he would like to just continue.
"You can always listen, and you can always do better," said Sheriff Taylor. "And that's our plan. We are going to continue to train. We are going to continue to defuse situations, but I think I've got the finest sheriff's department in the whole country."
Johnson told News 9 his focus would be building safer communities, fiscal responsibility and transparency, positive partnerships and making progress.
"Law enforcement is one of those professions where they say we've done it this way for this many years works we're going to continue to do that," said Johnson. "Well if you do not adapt and overcome you will fail and be left behind. We need to bring the Oklahoma County Sheriff Office to current times."
The race for the Fifth Congressional District has included attack ads and contentious debates.
News 9 tried to catch up with both candidates before run-off, but only State Senator Stephanie Bice would talk.
Bice said she's focusing on the positive. Her main message is that everyone should get out and vote.
Of course, she's hoping this is really all in preparation for the race against Congresswoman Kendra Horn.
"I'm able to negotiate and get things done and that's the type of person I am," said Bice. "A doer. And I think a vote for me is a vote for somebody who is going to bring back our conservative values to this congressional district but also gets things done in Washington."
Neese would not talk to News 9 after our crews ran several stories the last few weeks.
The first centered around training tapes Neese reportedly used at her family business. In the tapes, that were leaked, Neese appears to be telling employees to lie to clients.
During a debate hosted by Non Doc, Neese blamed Bice for the leak.
News 9 also covered a story on the non-profit Neese runs.
Our crews talked to her about how it seems to profit her family business the most.
There are other special elections people will vote on in their counties. Voters can check the sample ballot to see what’s on their specific ballot before heading to the polls.
Polls close at 7:00 p.m. News 9 will have full election results throughout the night.
