It's now been more than 24 hours since that man disappeared. Rescue teams say this could become a multi day process.

Fire crews had a lookout overnight Wednesday, and rescue crews will be back out at 7 a.m. to begin the search again.

Crews say the missing man is around 50-years-old and he was in the neighborhood to visit his family.

Witnesses told rescue crews they saw a man on top of his car surrounding by rising water, but then he disappeared.

Rescue teams are using divers, boats, sonar and drones to try and find the man.

Ski Island is known to flood with heavy rain, like what happened Monday night. However, residents said they haven't seen flooding this severe in decades.

"This is the worst flood. I have been here for 20 years, and this is by far the worst flood in 20 years and the first time that it has been in my house," said Dale Talley, a resident by Ski Island.

Rescue teams say they will search Ski Island by using a grid system, meaning they will search select areas before clearing them, and moving onto the next.
