Officers confronted accused burglars after a 15-year-old hid in a closet as the suspects allegedly ransacked her home near Southeast 51st Street and South Bryant Avenue.

According to Oklahoma City police, two were arrested, putting an end to their crime spree.

Police believe both suspects are responsible for several other recent burglaries in their own neighborhood in southeast Oklahoma City.

“I try to keep my peace, I don't wish no one to be homeless, but I just wish they would move,” said one concerned woman who did not want to be identified.

According to neighbors, Josiah Cooks, and Dante Parker, both 22, have been a menace ever since moving in.

“Every month, ever since they moved here in April, there's something going on, the ambulance, the fire trucks, or the police,” said the woman.

She said the men place everyone around them in danger.

“I fear for my life. I don't know if someone is going to shoot up their house, or are they going to shoot?” said the woman.

Cook and Parker were arrested Saturday after police said they burglarized the homes of two of their neighbors.

911 Caller: How did they get in?! The [expletive] back door. They didn't get the TV, it's right here.

“When the homeowner came home, he found his house in a complete state of disarray. They had ransacked the residence looking for anything of value,” said Oklahoma City Police MSgt. Gary Knight.

After stealing thousands of dollars in guns and electronics police said the men burglarized a second house.

“Two men knocked on the front door, when no one answered they went around to the back of the house and kicked in the back door,” said Knight.

According to police, a 15-year-old girl was inside, and after hearing the men break-in, barricaded herself in a closet.

“At some point the burglars actually entered her room, which I’m sure was a very frightening thing for her. She actually came out, told the burglars she was calling the police,” said Knight.

Cooks and Parker were arrested at their home where more stolen items were recovered.

“It was several guns, three, four rifles, pistols, I just couldn’t see them all, but they had them laid out on the car,” said a woman.

Police also recovered barbiturates and Xanax from inside the home.
