The trial for a deadly Edmond shooting that police say started with a fit of jealousy, begins Monday.

George Watson's trial is set for 9 a.m. Monday, he's charged with first-degree murder in the 2019 death of Sawyer English.

Police say they found English gunned down in his Edmond home. Both Watson and his girlfriend Lindsi Mayabb were charged in connection to the murder.

Mayabb has since taken a plea deal in exchange for testifying against her boyfriend.

Police say Watson shot and killed English in a fit of jealousy after English allegedly contacted Mayabb through an Escort website.

News 9 had the chance to talked to English's father, who wants people to remember the good things about his son.

"He just wanted to have friends, he just wanted to be happy. I think that's what I want people to take away from him," says English's father Mitch English.

Police say Mayabb and Watson were hiding out in Florida for a month before they were caught and extradited back to Oklahoma.
