Significant water damage has been reported at multiple Hennessey schools, the district said Tuesday.
Hennessey High School and elementary school sustained damage.
The high school had pipes burst overnight in the ceiling in part of the school. All the rooms in the east and north wing of the school had several inches of standing water and the ceilings were down in several of the north wing rooms.
The elementary school also had standing water in all of the north and some of the south rooms but no ceiling damage.
Teachers and staff are advised to stay out of the building until further notice due to many hazards such as falling ceiling tiles, electrical cords standing in water and slip hazards.
“As it looks right now, we will be full time virtual for the remainder of the week,” the superintendent said.
