A vehicle crashed into a northwest Oklahoma City home early Tuesday while officers were chasing the vehicle.
Oklahoma City police were notified of a pursuit that Oklahoma City University police initiated with a Mercedes.
OCU police lost the car at some point, but not a long time afterward, it was found crashed into a home near NW 42nd Street and N. Kentucky Avenue.
“I heard the screech of the tires, and it felt like an earthquake or a meteor hit the house,” said Matt O’Neill, who lives in the house with Colleen Barnett.
He said he is still in shock after the car plowed through their kitchen which is right under where they were sleeping.
“The firefighters said they can’t say if it will be structurally sound with where it hit,” said Colleen Barnett.
Oklahoma City police arrested Dustin Hurley, who was identified as the driver at the time of the crash. Officers said they could not confirm if Hurley was the driver at the time of the initial pursuit.
Hurley was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center for possession of a firearm after a felony conviction and on four felony warrants.
