Ponca City Elementary Student Tests Positive For Tuberculosis, District Officials Say

A Ponca City Schools elementary student has tested positive for tuberculosis, district officials announced Monday.

According to a social media post, the student attends Liberty Elementary School.

The school district said they are fully cooperating with the Oklahoma Department of Health and the Kay County Health Department during the investigation.

School staff and parents, who may have had significant exposure, were notified Monday, according to a district press release.
