The family of a woman killed after a pursuit suspect crashed into her vehicle Monday morning said they are just trying to figure out how to move forward.
Oklahoma City police said Star Shells was hit and killed by 38-year-old Wacey Mikles as he led police on a pursuit across the metro.
Shells' mom told News 9 they lost more than her daughter.
"She just took them to school," Shells' mom Connie Basco said. "Just a normal day."
Basco said her daughter had just dropped off her two boys, but their morning routine all changed with one phone call from a friend.
"He said there's a bad wreck on Martin Luther King, and I think it’s her car," Basco said. "I said ‘come get me.’"
When she arrived at the crash site her daughter's new car was mangled. Shells had already been taken from the scene near Northeast 16th and MLK.

"My daughter died for nothing," Basco said. "Over a pickup truck they could have recovered any other time."
Police said they tried to pull over Mikles when they spotted the stolen truck. According to a police report, the owner of the truck had left the keys in the car when it was taken around 7:30 a.m.
The report also said the owner was tracking the truck from his phone.
Police said Mikles led them on a pursuit for just six minutes before they said he crashed into Shells.
"He's probably going through it for real," Mikles said. "I just stole a car and killed two people. She was six months pregnant. She was having a boy, name was gonna be Elijah."
At last check Mikles was still in the hospital.
Previously he's pleaded guilty to robbery, drug charges and just a few months ago domestic assault and battery.
"I know they are going to charge him. My grandson and my daughter died," Basco said. "He wouldn't have been going that fast if they hadn't been chasing him."
Shells' family said she was just 28 years old, and her sons recently lost even more than their mom.
"To be so young," Basco said. "I'm gonna raise them to be good men because that's what she was doing."
Mikles faces numerous complaints including second-degree murder and felony eluding.
Police did not want to comment further on the pursuit.
Shells' family has a GoFundMe set up to help her sons and the family with funeral expenses.
