The City of Mustang says the poor weather has forced them to cancel its annual Freedom Celebration on Saturday.
City officials say the event has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 16, 2021, which they say is Mustang's 52nd Birthday.
See the city's full explanation below:
This fundraising event, scheduled annually for the last Saturday in June and brought to you by the Mustang Fire Department, is scheduled at that time because Fireworks are permitted by the general public from June 27th through July 4th each year. By conducting it on the last Saturday in June, it ensures that emergency personnel are both available during the June 27th to July 4th time frame as well as to provide a professional family oriented fireworks show to be enjoyed by these same individuals and the general public.
The event has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 16, 2021, which is also the City of Mustang’s 52nd Birthday. We look forward to seeing you at that time.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Complaints can be directed to Mother Nature but please be patient as we are still trying to get her to address the purpose of the October 2020 Ice Storm and the February 2021 Arctic Blast.
