OSBI: Armed Woman Dies After Police Standoff In Chickasha

Law enforcement agencies responded to a standoff Tuesday night in Chickasha near Rose Hill Cemetery.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed it was called by Chickasha police to an area near the intersection of South 12th Street and West Tennessee Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a man and woman outside the residence. The woman was armed with a gun.

Authorities said they asked the woman to drop her weapon. Instead, she held onto it and ran inside the home.

OSBI said Wednesday afternoon that a Chickasha police officer fired their weapon at the woman after it said she pointed her weapon at officers.

Officers then said they heard a gunshot coming from the home. When they entered the home, they said they found the armed woman deceased.

OSBI said the medical examiner will determine the woman's cause of death.
