Police are asking for help in identifying a man accused of robbing a laundromat at gunpoint in southeast Oklahoma City.

Investigators released a video of the person Wednesday morning.

Police said he forced his way through the back door of the business near SE 44th and Byers. In the security video, it shows the man walk and point a gun at a woman. He then grabs her and leads her to a back room.

"(He) holds the employee at gunpoint while he takes cash from the business," said Oklahoma City police Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

Police reports said the woman and her husband were both there at the time. They told police the suspect took $300 worth of quarters before fleeing the scene in a car behind the business.

"It's important to know there's a second person involved that you do not see on the video," said Knight. "There was a getaway driver waiting for him."

The reports said the car was a four-door sedan with a dark colored top and a gray or gold bottom. It was last seen driving south of Byers.

The woman told police she had never seen the suspect before. Police said no one was hurt.

"It's always dangerous when somebody pulls out a gun, points it at another person and is committing a crime like this," said Knight. "(It) obviously raises the odds that something tragic is going to happen, and it's very fortunate that nothing did."

Police are now piecing together what evidence they have and ask the public to take a close look at the video to see if anyone recognizes the suspect.

"You get a really good look at the suspect as he's walking through the business with a firearm," Knight said.

If you recognize this suspect or have any other information on this case, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 405-235-7300.
