Wildfires Prompting Evacuations In Parts Of Guymon

Some residents in Guymon are being asked to evacuate Wednesday afternoon due to wildfires.

The Texas County Emergency Management office issued an alert at 2 p.m. indicating a wildfire west of Guymon "will threaten the west edge" of the city.

The alert asks residents of Guymon west of Sunset Lane and County Road 30 to evacuate to the north or south of the city to avoid the fire.

Other residents should stay on alert and heed evacuations as needed.
