The deadly shooting happened on Wednesday in front of a crowd gathered at a motel located near Interstate 40 and South MacArthur Boulevard.

Police took witnesses from the crime scene to downtown headquarters for interviews, but no one was arrested.
Police taped off a portion of the Green Carpet Inn to investigate the shooting.
Officers were called to the motel just after 3 a.m. and stayed into the early afternoon hours collecting evidence.
“It appears there was some type of disturbance that went on involving several armed people,” Msgt. Gary Knight, with the Oklahoma City Police Department, said.
Knight said the confrontation initially started with the victim and one other person but grew as motel guests heard the commotion outside.
“It was during this confrontation that shots were fired,” Knight said.
Police said the victim was on the second floor balcony when he was shot.
“When officers arrived, they found one person critically wounded,” Knight said. “That person was transported to an area hospital.”
The man died at the hospital, and witnesses stayed at the scene.
One by one they were escorted to patrol cars. Police said their interviews were critical to the investigation and piecing together what happened.
“Ultimately, it will be up to the DA’s office to determine what if any changes are appropriate,” Knight said.
