Suspect Found Guilty After Deadly 2021 Shooting Outside NW OKC Bar

A suspect has been found guilty in connection to a deadly 2021 shooting outside of a northwest Oklahoma City bar.

Emilio Ybarra was found guilty for fatally shooting 22-year-old Kelly Lucio and injuring several others.

Investigators learned the suspects, Ybarra and Diana Perez waited in the parking lot of Classen Grill across from the bar. The woman sat in a car while the alleged shooter hid behind a pillar waiting for the victims.

Police were called after multiple gunshots hit two victims near Northwest 50th Street and Classen Circle.

“Officers located 22-year-old Kelly Lucio, who was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Oklahoma City Police Department Sgt. Megan Morgan said. 

Ybarra was found guilty on one count of first-degree murder and one count of shooting with intent to kill.

A jury recommended Ybarra serve life without parole. Formal sentencing is set for March 31.

Ybarra’s accomplice took a guilty plea last year for accessory to murder.
