A suspect has been found guilty in connection to the murder of a woman and her unborn child in 2018.
A McClain County clerk confirmed that Joshua Finkbeiner was found guilty on Monday of two first-degree murder charges for the murder of Shaliya Toombs and her unborn child.
Finkbeiner is set to be formally sentenced Wednesday.
Toombs’ body was found in the back of a pickup truck May 2, 2018 at a gas station near Interstate 35 in McClain County. Toombs was approximately seven months pregnant.

A man approached a Lighthorse police officer and said he was out of gas. He later told the officer he had a body in the back of the pickup.
Deputies arrested Daniel Vasquez, who was one of two men in the pickup. Vasquez was booked into jail on an accessory after the fact complaint.

Toombs was reported missing from a southwest Oklahoma City apartment complex.

Toombs's family said she texted her mother and said someone was trying to kill her. Her family told police she had not reached out to them since that text.
