Embark's Rapid Transit system is on track to open up in late 2023, although construction is still underway across Oklahoma City.
While construction may temporarily affect your drive, the city said the temporary pain is worth it to help everyone move around the city easier.
"With any kind of construction project that means progress, so we definitely ask people to be patient with us," Jason Ferbrache, administrator of the Central Oklahoma Transportation and Parking Authority said.
Ferbrache said the patience will soon pay off as the city has all of the new buses and is now constructing the new elevated platforms ahead of the system's launch.
Currently, the city is training drivers, which mean residents may see some of the new buses driving around.
Ferbrache said to look out this summer as the city installs the bus platforms, shelters and other technology that makes this program stand out from regular bus service.
Construction is expected to wrap up by late summer to early fall of this year, but the Rapid Transit system should start servicing residents before the end of the year.
