It's curtains for a metro cabinet company that unexpectedly closed its doors, leaving customers and workers in the dark.

We've heard of nearly a dozen customers who handed over the cash but have nothing to show for it.

Wilshire Cabinet Co. opened in 2017, immediately being a go-to for interior design.

In 2021 the company expanded to a closet service.

Two owners, Travis Morelock and Jason Grife, are married.

A source close to the couple says they were known for always having it together and says what's shocking is how they just closed their doors, but in a sense, it's not shocking their business was struggling.

A message was sent to employees by one of the owners, Travis:

"It was my dream kitchen," said Allison Richards, a customer of Wilshire Cabinet.

For Allison and Brandon their family kitchen and bathroom were all picked out.

"We initially had a great experience," said Brandon Banks. "Midway through, we get postponed, delayed updates, and then shut down."

The family says they started panicking, calling, emailing, and reaching out, hoping they could figure out how to get what they paid nearly 30 thousand dollars for.

It's the same story for the Gantz family 30 thousand down the drain.

"We received a phone call Saturday morning. April Fools' Day from one of the salespeople that this isn't very good news. Owners locked the doors and took the money," said Dinah Joyner Gantz.

The family has been saving since 2017, ordered their cabinets in October of 2022, and has been waiting ever since. The family found out the company building their cabinets was notified of the order, but Wilshire Cabinet never sent the manufacturer money, leaving the cabinets not manufactured.

In an email, Wilshire Cabinets confirmed to the Gantz family their order would arrive on March 24th.

The Attorney General's Office says they have been contacted about this business and are looking into the situation.

The AGs office further adds:

We encourage anyone who feels they have been scammed to file a complaint with the Attorney General's Consumer Protection Unit as soon as possible. It is also helpful to gather all materials related to the order or project. Anyone who paid by check or credit card should attempt to stop payment if it's still possible. To file a complaint, visit www.oag.ok.gov/consumer-protection-unit or call 1-833-681-1895.
