Woman Dies While Detained At Oklahoma County Detention Center

The Oklahoma County Detention Center is investigating after a detainee was found dead inside her cell on Friday.

The OCDC said 37-year-old Courtenay Doyle was found unresponsive in her assigned cell at around 6 a.m. while officers were conducting sight checks.

A detentions officer called for medical staff and began life-saving measures, the OCDC said, however Doyle was transported to the hospital, where she was declared dead at approximately 7:16 a.m.

Doyle was booked into the detention center on March 13 by Bethany Police on illegal drug trafficking and paraphernalia possession complaints.

The OCDC said Doyle's family has been notified.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office will investigate the cause of death, and OCDC said all deaths are investigated as homicides until a final determination is made.
