Local High School Band Raising Funds After Equipment Stolen

Westmoore High School in Moore is raising funds to replace stolen equipment for its marching band.

A GoFundMe for the group's band boosters club said it estimates the loss at $6,000.

The trailer, which only had its contents stolen, contained food equipment for feeding the band members and key volunteers — nearly 250 people — during the season's several shows and competitions.

"They took everything, even the napkins, plates and utensils," said Ari Taylor, the band's director.

The fundraising effort from the booster club has raised more than $2,000 as of Thursday evening.

Any additional funds beyond their need will be used for other band-related expenses.

The band's first competition is in September.
