Oklahoma National Guard Mourning The Loss Of Staff Sergeant

A National Guardsman from Ada, Oklahoma passed away August 5, 2023, according to the Oklahoma National Guard.

Staff Sgt. Jonathan Jump joined the Oklahoma Army National Guard in 2006 as a human resource specialist. Jump later transitioned to a heavy vehicle driver. According to the Oklahoma National Guard, Jump served in a variety of units.

“Jonathan was a dedicated member and combat veteran of the Oklahoma Army National Guard,” said Maj. Gen. Thomas H. Mancino, adjutant general for Oklahoma. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and our fellow Guardsmen during this difficult time.”

Jump served in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in 2010-2011 and 2012-2013 and Kuwait in 2016-2017.

Memorial services for Jump are being held August 12 at Watts Funeral Home in Madill, Oklahoma.
