This Saturday in Stroud, they are shutting down the streets for a big festival for a big cause.

“It’s a small city with people with big hearts,” said Alfreidya Wester, or Lady A, organizer of the Hot Summer Nights festival.

The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. with a Route 66 parade.

“We include the old school cars, the motorcycles, we have the golf carts, little ATVs that will be in the parade,” said Webster.

With a special guest as this year’s parade grand marshal.

“We have a special guest that will be leading the parade, we have Mister Frost from Tough As Nails season four,” said Webster.

After the parade, there will be live bands and the streets of downtown Stroud will be lined with vendors.

“All the stores will be open so you can participate in the stores, but we will have clothing booths and everything. So, it’s going to be a fun day to fellowship with people,” said Webster.

This is the second year for the Hot Summer Nights, which welcomes guests from all over to the small town of Stroud.

“We had right at 3,000 people last year to come to the city of Stroud, and it topped our city population,” said Webster.

There will be lots of fun and, of course, lots of food.

“We usually have ribs, brisket, jambalaya, Asian food, soul food if you will,” said Webster.

And of course, an Oklahoma staple for these festivals, Indian tacos.

“Last year we had so many vendors out, food vendors, and I can tell you this, every food vendor sold out of food before the festival was over. This year we don’t plan on selling out of food,” said Wester.

The event is free to attend, and all the money raised will go to the Stroud nonprofit Promise Pointe.

“Promise Pointe Foundation is to house people that have been displaced from any walk of life, and we restore, we reintegrate, and we give resources,” said Webster.
