Man Arrested Following Chickasha Triple-Homicide Booked Into Grady Co. Jail

A 22-year-old man accused of shooting and killing three people who were found deceased at a residence in Chickasha has been booked into the Grady County Jail.

A 22-year-old man taken into custody after three people were found dead inside of a home in Chickasha has been placed into the Grady County Jail, court documents show.

Jacob Mayhugh is accused of shooting and killing three people who were found deceased at a residence and was later arrested by The Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation.

Mayhugh was identified as a person of interest after a deadly triple shooting in Chickasha, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on May 13.

On May 11, the Chickasha Police Department Chief requested assistance from the OSBI in the investigation of a triple homicide. 

CPD received a 911 call at 11:23 a.m. on May 11 stating that there were shell casings on the front porch of a house near South 6th Street and that possible bodies were in the home, according to an affidavit.

When authorities responded to the home, officers discovered an AR-15 in the entryway of the residence, the affidavit stated. 

Three bodies were found in the residence with gunshot wounds, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit later confirmed that an AR-15 was purchased by Jacob Mayhugh on April 24, 2024.

The affidavit confirmed that the victims have been identified as Patty Mayhugh, James Mayhugh, and Shayla Mayhugh.

News 9 is waiting to learn when Mayhugh will be arraigned.
