Neighbors React To Double Stabbing, Drug Overdose At NW OKC Home

A chaotic scene at a home in northwest Oklahoma City led to three people going to the hospital overnight Tuesday.

Police said two people were stabbed and officers found a third person unresponsive from a possible drug overdose.

Police said the critical patient was taken to OU Medical Center with a large stab wound to his neck. The other victim had a non-life-threatening stab injury to his arm.

Neighbors said they were not surprised when the violent attack broke out at the home.

“A lot of issues going on over there,” said Nick, neighbor.

Nick watched the chaotic scene unfold from his front porch. Police were called to the home on the corner of Northwest 58th Street and Portland Avenue early Tuesday morning.

“There was some type of disturbance inside the home,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk, Oklahoma City Police Department. “It’s unclear what led up to that if it was domestic-related or an altercation between friends.”

Two different hospitals called the police reporting a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old showed up with stab injuries. Nick said it was only a matter of time before something bad happened at the home.

“We’ve been waiting for that to happen,” said Nick. “They fight all the time.”

Nick was unsure how many people lived at the home but said he has watched people come and go at all hours of the day.

“Ongoing thing for the last six months at least,” said Nick.

One man told News 9 that a woman rented out rooms at the home to pay the bills.

“They bring roommates in to try to supplement the income,” said Michael. “You know pay the rent and stuff.”

Police carried one of the roommates out of the home who was unresponsive.

“There were several other people inside that residence,” said Quirk. “A third person was taken to the hospital on a possible overdose related to drugs.”

The investigation lasted into the afternoon. Police took evidence from the home and focused their attention on a car that was parked in the driveway. 

“Up to this point, nobody has been officially arrested,” said Quirk 

Police are investigating if the teenager and the 21-year-old were fighting and stabbed each other or if there was a third person involved in that altercation.

Neighbors said they have called police multiple times to the home for fights and noise complaints
