The Logan County Sheriff’s office says it's investigating a minor volunteer camp counselor accused of raping an adult camper.

Twin Cedars Camp tells News 9 that the counselor was a first-time volunteer and is no longer with the program in any capacity.

Twin Cedars released a statement saying:

“We were notified recently of an allegation involving a Twin Cedars counselor and an adult camper. We take these allegations extremely seriously, as the safety and wellbeing of our campers and counselors are our number one priority in everything we do. We utilize a multi-point vetting process for all volunteers working in our programs to ensure that they have been thoroughly vetted, in addition to providing extensive safety training. The volunteer in question was a first-time volunteer and is no longer involved in our program in any capacity. We are in full cooperation with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and are conducting our own internal investigation.”

The Logan County Sheriff says it presented one rape charge to the Logan County District Attorney.

News 9 called the DA asking if they plan to file charges. The DA says they cannot comment on this case because it involves a minor.
