A metro man charged with kidnapping and sex crimes with a child waives his right to a preliminary hearing. The incident happened almost two and a half years ago in Mustang when according to court documents, 24-year-old Alan Montana Anderson-Himes was caught on surveillance video trying to grab the little girl.

On Friday, he appeared inside a Canadian County courtroom with his attorney. He’s charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of lewd acts with a child. A probable cause affidavit reveals he was caught on a doorbell camera pulling up to the victim’s home in a rental car. Police say two girls under the age of 10 ran up to the car. Police say the defendant circled and stopped again, this time grabbing one of the girls and forcing her to touch him. She broke free and ran for help. The court papers say it happened in a Mustang neighborhood back in March of 2022 and neighbors then say they were in disbelief it happened.

“It was pretty upsetting, because it’s so close, usually when you hear about these things, it’s in a different state or not in your neighborhood,” said neighbor Obadiah Turk following Anderson-Himes’ arrest in 2022. “My kids play with the other kids in the neighborhood.”

A nearly month-long search using a police sketch of the bearded suspect ended with Anderson-Himes’ arrest. Still out on bond, the defendant left the courtroom after his court appearance.

Anderson-Himes is scheduled for his District Court arraignment on October 17 at 10:30 a.m.
