Oklahoma State Linebackers Added to Butkus Award Watch List

Oklahoma State linebackers Nick Martin and Collin Oliver have been named to the Butkus Award watch list, which recognizes the top linebacker in college football. This marks the third preseason watch list inclusion for both, who were also selected for the Bednarik Award and Nagurski Trophy.

The Butkus Award, now in its 40th season, features 51 players, including seven from the Big 12. Oklahoma State, alongside Utah, is one of only two Big 12 teams with multiple players on the list.

In 2023, Martin had a standout season with 140 tackles, the most by a Cowboy since 1984, and led the Big 12 in sacks among linebackers. Oliver earned second-team All-Big 12 honors and is among OSU’s career leaders in sacks and tackles for loss.

Finalists for the Butkus Award will be announced on November 25, with the winner revealed on December 10.
