Known as the wheat capitol of the United States, Enid is right on the path of the Chisholm Trail and the Great Land Run cross. At a time known as the Golden Age, Enid benefited from the discovery of oil in the 1910s and into WWII. The Enid Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1906 and has been performing since. The importance of the Arts is evident through these performances and the city's annual hosting of the Tri-State Music Festival.
