Road Trip Oklahoma is heading Northwest to Enid. Known as the wheat capitol of the United States, Enid is right on the path of the Chisholm Trail and the Great Land Run cross. At a time known as the Golden Age, Enid benefited from the discovery of oil in the 1910s and into WWII.
The Enid Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1906 and has been performing since. The importance of the Arts is evident through these performances and the city's annual hosting of the Tri-State Music Festival.
Over 30 parks and recreation areas span across 400 acres. Enid prides itself with a new project called GreEnid. This go green initiative is promoting a recycling center to help an environment that has more than 50,000 residents.
Enid is home to Mark Price, who won an Olympic Gold Medal as part of the Dream Team II in 1994 and his younger brother, Brent Price, who was a guard in the NBA. Enid is also the hometown for Lieutenant Governor Todd Lamb.
