MARLOW, Oklahoma -- The Marlow City Council met in executive session Tuesday evening to discuss allegations of criminal acts by several of its police officers.
Police Chief Bob Hill and two of his patrol officers have been suspended after a judge and District Attorney accused them of lying under oath and tampering with evidence in a criminal case.
The case was eventually thrown out and the suspect set free.
Before the executive session, Marlow's city attorney told the council the meeting needed to be private because if details of their discussion were made public, it could "seriously impair" the ability of the city to conduct its investigation.
More than an hour later, the session ended and the public was allowed back into council chambers, but the council said it would take "no action" Tuesday on the investigation and moved on to its regularly scheduled agenda.
The OSBI and FBI are conducting a separate investigation into the force, and the Stephens County District Attorney has said depending on the outcome of that investigation he may file criminal charges against the chief and several officers.
Coming up tonight on NEWS 9 at 10, Rusty Surette has the latest on the investigation of several members of the Marlow Police Department.
