Manhunt Underway For McAlester Prison Escapee

MCALESTER, OK -- Authorities are looking for an escapee from a state prison in McAlester.

Thirty-four-year-old Stephen Thomas was last seen at an 8:30 a.m. Monday head count at the Jackie Brannon Correctional Facility.

Thomas is serving a 25 year sentence out of Seminole County for Injury to a Minor Child and 5 years out of Pottawatomie County for being in possession of an explosive device.

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections believes Thomas may be headed to the Shawnee area where he has relatives.
