OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma's very own Kristin Chenoweth was inducted into the 83rd Oklahoma Hall of Fame tonight at the Cox Convention Center.
"I never thought I'd even be considered to be in the Oklahoma hall of fame because I know who's come before me and I'm in very good company, " Chenoweth said.
Other inductees in the 2010 Oklahoma Hall of Fame were Robert A. Hefner, III, Edward F. Keller, Judy Love, Michael Turpen, and Lew O. Ward, III.
"Being inducted into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor Oklahomans can receive for their contributions to our state," said Shannon Rich, president of the Oklahoma Heritage Association and Gaylord-Pickens Museum.
Chenoweth said this particular honor has a special meaning to her.

"You can win a lot of awards in this life but when you're recognized from the people who know you the longest and the best, it's more of a reward than an award," Chenoweth said. "I am an Oklahoma girl who is incredibly proud to call herself that."
Chenoweth is currently living in both New York and Los Angeles.
Chenoweth said she depends on prayers and family to keep her going. When asked if she ever thought about slowing down, she said it's crossed her mind but it doesn't seem to be what God has in plan for her, although those are good blessings.
