A vision for Tulsa's future is nearing completion.
Crews began installing a new sculpture at the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza, located at 11th Street and Southwest Boulevard.
Avery is known as the father of the mother road, and he helped create the national highway system.
The first part of the bronze sculpture is Avery and his family riding in a car.
In a couple of weeks, crews will add a statue of an oil field wagon being pulled by a team of horses.
"It'll really look great and create kinda an action scene and be representative of Route 66 as well," Tulsa city planner Dennis Whitaker said.
There are kiosks at the plaza telling the story of Route 66 and a little about the new sculpture.
