Tahlequah Woman Arrested After Toddler Burned By Meth Chemicals

Cherokee County undersheriff Jason Chennault said a Tahlequah hospital called authorities after Vann brought the 27-month-old to the emergency room.

The grandmother of a toddler reportedly burned from meth lab chemicals in a Tahlequah home is free on bond following her arrest Friday, February 1, 2013.

Brenda Vann, 54, was booked into the Cherokee County jail on complaints of child abuse and manufacturing methamphetamine.

Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault said a Tahlequah hospital called authorities after Vann brought the 27-month-old to the emergency room.

Chennault said deputies searched Vann's home and found a meth lab. He believes Vann waited a day before taking the toddler to the hospital.

The toddler has been released and Vann posted a $75,000 bond.
