Authorities Make Arrest After Woman's Body Found In Guthrie

Authorities have arrested a man in the death of a woman whose body was found in Guthrie, Friday morning.

A family walking by discovered the body around 9 a.m. in the 9900 block of S. Bryant. Deputies say the death is suspicious. There were signs of trauma to her body, and investigators believe her body was dumped along the dead-end road.

Just before 7 p.m. Friday, Logan County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation confirmed that they have made an arrest in the homicide.

Timothy Slawson, 21, was taken into custody and is being held at the Logan County Sheriff's Office Detention Center. He will be formally charged on Monday.

Police have identified the victim, but have not released her name at this time.

Slawson was previously arrested for a series of auto and residential burglaries in Logan County back in July, 2012.
