OKLAHOMA CITY -- It was never illegal for a family to set up a camera inside a loved one's room. Now with written consent, a reliable third party can always have eye inside the nursing home.

News 9 has footage of 96-year-old Erytha Mayberry having gloves shoved in her mouth and being pushed by her nurses.

We know what happened to Mayberry, as for what happened to 93-year-old Ann Trumbly, her daughter has doubts.

"You're upset because your mother has been hurt and you can see the pain she's going through," said Trumbly's daughter Susan Baker.

Trumbly 's nursing home told her daughter that her mom fell out of her wheelchair.

"You're going through a circle of doubt and frustration because you don't know what happened, you can only take their word for it," Baker said.

Baker and her family have tried to move her mom.

"The care she needs is so in depth a lot of homes won't take her when they are like that," Baker said.

Now that senate bill 5-87 is in effect, Baker plans to install cameras in her mom's room.

"It's a win-win for everybody. If they are doing their job and doing it right. Then everyone benefits," said citizen advocate, Wes Bledsoe.

Citizen advocate Wes Bledsoe has been working on this bill for more than 12 years and is glad that if there are questions, families can fast forward to the answers.

"Maybe there isn't abuse, I will still like to just be able to watch her in general," Baker said.

Before families place cameras in the room, consent forms must be filled out to notify the facility.
