The James C. Nance Bridge, which connects Purcell and Lexington, is severely damaged, according to the Cleveland County Sheriff's office.
Jim Gardner and Bob Mills SkyNews 9 HD flew over the bridge Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities say the bridge was found to have significant damage to the east end, which spans the river.
Due to this damage, ODOT has dropped the weight limit to travel across the bridge to 16 tons. This means that not even a school bus can cross the bridge due to its weight.
ODOT is working with engineers to find a solution.
