Man Killed In Edmond Shooting During Reported Home Invasion; Homicide Investigation Underway

A homicide investigation is underway in Edmond on Saturday after police said a home invasion led to a deadly shooting.

Edmond Police said a man was killed and two suspects are on the run after the possible burglary at a home near West Danforth Road and North Santa Fe Avenue.

Authorities said two people were in the home during the incident, one of them was assaulted.

Police said the two suspects are males who left the scene. So far, no arrests have been made. They say this is an isolated incident.

News 9 spoke with one neighbor across the street, Rahcel Bishop, who said she rarely saw the victim coming in and out of his house.

"We've never said anything in passing. I've seen his family leave more than him," Bishop said.

Bishop, who has lived on the street for a year, says she was shocked and frightened knowing what happened so close to her doorstep.

"I live in North Edmond to avoid all the chaos and things like that. For this to be that close to home is really scary at this point," Bishop said.
