Getting drivers to obey the law is always a concern for police departments. The Ada Police Department has come up with a unique way to get people to slow down.
"We can't keep people in every neighborhood that they complain about speeders," said Chief Mike Miller, Ada Police Department. "But we can put that car there and let it sit all day and it will slow people down."
Dressed in a blue Ada police uniform with a badge, the CPR dummy called the "Plastic Popo" looks the part. Chief Miller says they set him on the side of the road and people slow down when they see the car.
The Plastic Popo has been a hit on social media with his own Facebook page.
Fans try to find where he's parked at so they can take selfies with it.
The "Plastic Popo" has seen some bad days. His car was recently hit head-on by another driver and had to be towed off for repairs.
"He was 10 or 12 feet off the shoulder and a drunk driver came along and took out the car," said Chief Miller.
Chief Miller says as soon as the police department gets another used vehicle, the "Plastic Popo" will be back inside his patrol car hoping to enforce the speed limit.
