Family members remembered a man shot and killed outside an Owasso convenience store on Sunday night. Emmett Woods died at the hospital Friday and the person who shot him is still on the loose.

Friends held a vigil in Owasso tonight in his honor.

For those who loved him, it still is hard that -- at 26 years old -- Woods is dead.

In his death he leaves behind a large family and a 3-year-old daughter.

The family is hoping someone with information about the shooting will come forward.

When Woods, a Skiatook High School graduate, had been shot in the middle of the day in the parking lot of an Owasso Kum n' Go, there wasn't a lot of initial information.

According to police, all they knew was that the person who shot Woods was driving a red truck. Yesterday, police found the alleged shooter’s truck abandoned in a Hobby Lobby parking lot.

Friends say they are getting anxious because they haven't gotten much information since the shooting. For now they can only hope justice will be served.

“We are hopeful and we are hoping that that's why we haven't heard,” friend Brandon Houston said. “Because [maybe police] don't want anyone to know what's going on with the investigation because they have a suspect. That's, in the end, [the] result, what we would love to have happen."

Funeral plans still are pending because Woods’ body has not been released.

The family says at 26 years old, Woods' hadn't been planning for his death, so they have set up an account for people to donate to help pay for his funeral.
