A man who pleaded guilty to murder gets a second chance in court.

Gilbert Paz was sentenced to 38 years in prison after pleading guilty to the 2012 murder of 23-year-old Jonathan Patton in Oklahoma City.

Paz claims his guilty plea was "involuntary."

On Thursday, August 6, 2015, the Court of Criminal Appeals ruled Paz didn't receive proper counsel while trying to withdraw his plea. His case now goes back to district court to be reconsidered.
