One Dead After Crash On WB I-40 East Of Oklahoma City

One person is dead after a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup and semi on westbound Interstate 40 east of the metro on Monday.

First responders were called to the scene on WB I-40, about two miles east of S. Harrah Rd.

The semi was stopped due to the construction and the pickup slammed into the back of it "without breaking or deceleration", the report states. The driver has now been identified as 45-year-old Joe McBroom of Yukon.

The cause of the crash on the OHP report is Unsafe Speed.

The driver of the semi was treated for back injuries at the scene and released.
