Students from across Green Country put their creativity to the test Friday.

The Tulsa STEM Alliance hosted 38 teams of elementary, middle and high school students at the Miller Swim School.

Each team constructed a boat using only cardboard and duct tape.

All boats had to carry the team captain across the pool.

"It's definitely about the teamwork, and working together and putting all of your ideas together in one boat. And, just like, getting it finished and seeing it in one boat is so awesome," one competitor said.

Judges scored competitors based on speed, aesthetics, historical merit and technical construction.
