Gene Rainbolt, the founder of BancFirst, Oklahoma’s largest state-chartered bank, passed away at 95.

Born and raised in Norman, Rainbolt was a dedicated champion of enhancing and diversifying Oklahoma's economy.

Rainbolt spent his life focused on advancing health, education, access to capital, and the state's infrastructure.

He said his mission in life was to create a better future for the youth in Oklahoma.

"My mission in life is to create an Oklahoma in which every child would have the opportunity to become all he or she could become."

His extensive service spans civic and economic development, chamber of commerce, youth, medical, zoological, arts, and banking organizations.
