Two men are in custody and one is on the run after Broken Arrow Police responded to 25 burglary calls in less than 24 hours.
Police say they found bags of evidence filled with stolen property inside a car that had been crashed and abandoned after a police chase.
"Both of the airbags had been deployed in the vehicle and there was no one inside," said BAPD Officer James Koch.
Broken Arrow Police say a homeowner caught a group of people trying to get into his car.
"The suspects were noticed, they jumped into a small four-door vehicle and fled the area," said Officer Koch.
An officer tried to pull them over, but police say the driver took off, going up to 90 mph on a busy street.
"A Tulsa Police officer who happened to be in the area noticed the collision and saw three individuals jump out of the car and run. That officer was able to catch one of them," said Officer Koch.
The Tulsa Police Officer arrested Elgin Atkins on the spot. Officers arrested the driver Wilbur Trejo hours later.
Police say the Trejo showed up at the Mingo Valley Division wearing just socks and shorts, covered in mud and water. He told police he wanted to report a stolen car, officers arrested him instead.
The third person is still on the run. Broken Arrow Police say people need to lock their doors, take their valuables out of their vehicles and if you do have a break-in report it immediately.
"It is impossible for us to be in every single neighborhood at the same time, we would love that. If we had the manpower to do that," said Officer Koch.
