Dewey County Sheriff To Return To Duty Wednesday

The Dewey County sheriff will return to duty Wednesday working half days, light duty.

Clay Sander is recovering from two gunshot wounds he suffered on October 30 in a gun battle with murder suspect Michael Vance, who was killed in a shootout with law officers.

He's still in a lot of pain, but he's excited to get back to work.

Tuesday evening, the City of Hammon honored Sander and all the law enforcement officers who were involved in the manhunt.

It was Sander's first public appearance since he was injured.
